Replace Traffic Signals with All-Way Stops

The Proposal: Replace existing traffic signals throughout residential neighborhoods with all-way stop signs.

The Vision: Give pedestrians priority right of way at every intersection and remove the incentive for drivers to accelerate through residential areas in order to “make the next light”.

Modeled After: Traffic signal to stop sign conversions in the SoBro and Cherokee Triangle neighborhoods

Proof of Concept: Old Louisville’s street grid contains many low-volume intersections where all-way stop signs would be a more appropriate control device than traffic signals.
